Article IV: Induction of New Members
To be inducted into the Chisum Middle School’s Junior Beta Chapter, the student must achieve an overall grade point average of 89.0 at the end of their sixth-grade year or seventh-grade year, and not have excessive absences throughout the year. They must also be of upstanding character, which will be determined through teacher recommendations.
Special Circumstances for membership: Should a student enroll in Chisum Middle School during their 7th and 8th-grade years already enrolled in another honor academy, ie. Junior BETA, National Junior Honor Society, Future Problem Solvers, Destination Imagination, the student is responsible for speaking with Mrs. Marsh, and once membership is confirmed, will be presented with an invitation for induction once their grades have been transferred, proof of membership has been attained, and the student has been approved by the Junior BETA sponsor(s). Students that move into the district once the school year has begun that were not previously enrolled in any of the above stated entities will have to wait until the end of the school year to be considered for membership.
